One of the problems with the fabric yokes is that they lay on your neck and your head is up inside the boat. The nice thing about the yokes that yknpdlr and I use is that the weight is carried on our shoulders and your head isn’t up inside the boat. Easy on easy off.
Now in my mid 70’s we started using portage yokes. My Northstar Trillium is easy but my wife’s Placidboat Oseetah was a challenge until I came up with this solution.
I have Petzl headlamps and only used them when getting caught out late while hiking but now I use them a lot around the house, working on the car, going up in the attic, etc.
My understanding is that if the tick is not discovered quickly, removed properly and treated with Doxycycline the Lyme will be with one forever. It can then rear its ugly symptoms later in life.

Hopefully it won’t be so hot, 2025 was a hot summer in the NE, and I would like to try a tandem canoe with my wife. We currently use pack canoes but as we age it might be easier to keep up with the younger paddler’s with us paddling a small tandem.

ABT, go to a place that caters to artists and they will have Sharpie markers in colors that aren’t the norm and you will find a permanent marker that is close to or a near exact match, they will hide those scratches.
