Excellent! I'm glad you had a good trip! The Demo Road to Moosehead Lake stretch is one of 2 or 3 segments I need to finish the NFCT. You lucked out on Moosehead. I've never seen that lake glassy.

Doesn't that mower deck detach and come right out? It is a bit of a pain in the butt on my mower to get it detached (something like 7 C-clips to remove, and then put back) but it only takes maybe 5 minutes, and I can just slide the deck out and have my way with it. Much, much easier to clean...

I use a different cart (the Instep canoe cart with 16 inch bicycle wheels) so your experience may not be the same, but for nearly all terrain except going up the steepest of hills, I find it easier, with better control, to push and/or follow along as the case may be from the rear of the boat...
