This is a big ash paddle. I saw it at an antique store today and apparently it just came in. I have no affiliation to the seller or the store but I can help someone else own it if they are interested. It’s looong 78” long and the blade is 30” long. I neglected to measure the width of the blade...

If it is up to me I intentionally leave a gap to let water drain out. Jim

Another opting is cut a slot on the inboard face and insert a spline. I have a slotting bit for a router so I would use that but it could be done with a straight bit in a router with a fence. Might look nice with a contrasting wood or make it blend in with the same species. Jim
