    Wenonah WW1 ...?

My son and I both paddled it. It felt good. I thought it would feel more tender. It even felt okay with the small dog moving around. It does like to go straight. When the water is warmer I will see how far I can push it on edge turns etc. As thin as the layup is, especially the sides, you would...

A couple more pictures It looks like a 1983 model. It's not kevlar. Did they use Tuff-weave on these? The seller said he bought a couple of years ago from an older guy. He thinks he had it possibly since new and used it fir fishing. Someone glassed in some anchor points.

I am pretty sure it's fiberglass. I will get a better look later today.

    Wenonah WW1 ...?

I picked it up this morning. The seller brought it to work with him so it was only about a 20 minute drive. It is pretty much what I expected for the price. It has some gelcoat cracking, the patches on the keels are rough etc. The seller only used it a couple of times. His first trip out he and...

Cleaning and restoring Michicraft aluminum canoe

Welcome! I would personally just use soap and water and keep its natural patina. You can get acid washes specifically for marine aluminum hulls. These are probably better for thicker motor boat welded hulls but I am sure they would work. I have also seen some polished aluminum canoes. If you...

    Explain Your Screen Name

I use the Sawyer Mini. Cheap, small, lightweight and works well. Lots of tips/hacks online to make the Mini and Squeeze work better.

    Wenonah WW1 ...?

Here are a few pictures from the seller. Some pretty rough patches. The canoe is about 1.5 hours from me. I am not sure I can make it out there for a few days.

I hope you painted it! Edit: actually it is kind of cool. It tells the story of the canoe.

Thanks Allen. I may have to buy this thing. I didn't think it would last this long on the face page.

    Old Town Penobscot 17

Decent weather and some free time so I did a little cleaning on the Penobscot. Lots of overspray on one side. I haven't decided how far I am going to take this restoration. I may just leave it for now. I haven't paddled this canoe yet.
