As my pup progresses with his canoe training we find more challenging water to work in. Yesterday our local paddle was the Wisconsin River. We explored a sandbar and some thick timber along the backwaters.

Mine is cedar. I rub hemp oil on it like 1 time a year, works great. Once in the back waters off the main river channel, I slide it behind me, out of the way … stuck out a bit off the gunnel in front of me but not an impediment … and use my sassafras guide paddle.
