    GRB Canoe question

I have the high seat in mine and find it very easy to paddle single blade, however I do agree with Joe on the hung seat. What about having Joe build the boat with out the seat? GRB sells their sliding seat in all carbon and I believe will custom make the base height to the paddlers preference...

    Canoe Quiver Revamp

I've been revamping my canoe quiver to reflect more of the paddling I like to do and interested in doing rather than buying just to buy. In early September I took delivery of my new Swift Dragonfly and this weekend a Placid Boat Works Shadow. Paddling my Dragonfly in expedition kevlar with the...

Pricing on a used Solo Merlin II or Hemlock Peregrine

Hi Fred, IMPO Hemlock Canoes are some of the best. In September 2020 I picked up a Peregrine in the premium+ layup and absolutely loved the boat. I had both sitting & kneeling drops. Over time I discovered it was easier to kneel in an Eaglet with the added depth as I have size 13 feet (Easier...

    Quick review of Esquif Echo.

Great insight, thank you! Not much of a WW guy but wouldn't mind a boat for rivers... Class ll is perfect for what I do.

    Quick review of Esquif Echo.

I've been considering the Echo for a river boat due to the t-formex and that from what I've read you could sit or kneel in this boat unlike the NS Phoenix. My knees do not like the kneeling. I would gather a foot bar would install rather easy as well.

Greetings from the Adirondacks: Overnight canoe camp on Slang Pond

Greetings from the Adirondacks! Myself and friend Scott Ireland recently headed out for an overnight canoe camp on Slang Pond. We put-in on Hoel Pond traveled through Turtle Pond and into Slang Pond. We found this amazing campsite on Slang and pitched our tents for the night. The weather and...

So many boats so little time, so much water so little time.. I'm on the hunt every day seeing what is out there and what people are selling. Like you mention I'm digging the "Indian Brown"...

Picked up a Curtis Nomad 2 weeks ago.

At first I wasn't too fond of the color (Indian Brown) however it has grown on me and I enjoy it. I also have the Peregrine and I agree the glide isn't what I had hoped for. My NW Solo has more glide to it, but let's be honest the Hemlock boats are sweet. As of now that Nomad will stay with the...

Picked up a Curtis Nomad 2 weeks ago.

I've only had it out on my parents lake and yes there is a little difference between both boats. Dave told me that the Peregrine turns easier than the Nomad and he is right. However I feel the Nomad has just a bit more glide to it and it is a joy to paddle. Doing a quick overnight trip to the...
