    Peterborough Litelift restoration

Thanks Jim. Did you glue it to the shearline and stem curve or staple? What did you use to fill the weave? Bob

    Peterborough Litelift restoration

Last summer I won a 1940s - 1950s Peterborough Litelift at the WCHA auction. I was told an older gentleman began the restoration and decided it wasn’t within his skill/ability to finish it properly. I hope I do it justice. If anyone can date it more exactly I would be very appreciative (see stem...

    Snow, where you are?

We got a good inch or so Tuesday into yesterday, but it is gone now. There was nothing to speak of a few miles down the hill. Wild how a couple hundred feet of elevation makes a difference throughout the winter. Bob

Sawyer 17’9” Cruiser on a diet

Fantastic project. Did you wet out the carbon and two layers of Eglass at the same time? How much resin in total would you say was used? Would you do anything differently next time? Bob

Poll: How often do your canoe trips include fishing?

Sometimes I like to fish and just as often I like to focus on paddling. Depends on the day. Bob

I have a paint cup and absorbent towel on a carabiner/paracord connection hanging on my seat. I don’t paddle any serious white water. Bob

    A Question about Folding Saws

I made this a few years ago. The blade folds into the handles. Silky saws work well and the blades are replaceable after years of service. I have heard good things about the folding Sven and Agawa saws as well. Bob

    Mad River resins

I have repaired chips in gel coat with gel coat repair kits that allow you to blend different colors to get a close match. Many years later they are still holding strong. I would be hesitant to use it on an area that needs to be “feathered” into the original gel coat like filled cracks. It is...
