I’ve not seen that one but a friend has one made from leather that he buckles through his open gunnel. I might try making one if I can solve the hook part.

I have no problem sharing my location. At 72 a lot can happen so I think it is important. Plus she enjoyed seeing where we were in the BWCA. I think it pinged every 4 hours to save battery life so she didn’t see the nuances.

It was -10° when I got up this morning, no wind and squeaky snow. It was marvelous a sweater and my wool vest was all I needed, no wind made all the difference.

Yes it was colder. In the ‘60/70’s as a kid the town would flood an area to create a naturally frozen skating rink I would skate from December through march sometimes. The last ten years or so it didn’t freeze enough to skate and now they don’t even bother to flood it.

I was talking with a customer yesterday and said I wasn’t going to go to the post office because I had to deal with the fresh snow storm we had. He is in Brazil and wrote back that he had no concept of snow but it sounds terrible. I had a good laugh at that as I love the snow. I didn’t tell him...
I believe the vacuum method gives a better cloth to resin ratio and hence I bit lighter weight in the end. But for one or two boats the setup is quite an investment.

I haven’t had to shovel yet this year on the coast, but we do have some snow on the ground. Since I don’t have pressure from a job anymore I can shovel at my convenience. I don’t mind the snow that’s why we moved to Maine.

I don’t think I would call the rot, Al. It just looks like reaction in the wood from the steel screw. The rest of the wood looks in good shape even though it broke.
