    Thermacell gas refill adapter

Very interesting, I will have to give that a try. I don’t use the Theracell much didn’t seem to work all that well when the mossies were at their thickest. Worked great when the little biters were just a big irritant, needed a bug shirt when they were bad. Thanks for the money saving link. ……..BB

Care & feeding of cold handle frying pans

Snapper….. Having a lawyer explain things to you is not necessarily a good thing. Getting a child to teach you how to use current technology is maybe a better route to take.

Winter camp is ready to go.

I enjoy seeing your posts of your winter retreat. Great idea to get outside for some exercise, fresh air, then some quality quiet time. I am wondering how you keep four gallons of water from turning to ice in a wall tent at -15 degrees Fahrenheit (-26 C.) ? Packing that much water into your...

Does not take a genius to look up all the bad things that have happened when mankind introduced invasive species to the natural environment.

    Winter Swimming?

As a much younger man when I lived in Northern Minnesota I’ve jumped into a big hole we sawed into the lake ice. Only after thoroughly being heated to the core, in a Sauna. It felt like being dipped into liquid silk. After getting out a quick sprint back to the sauna to re-warm was in order. I...

Hot Tent Camping In A Blizzard | ASMR

To me, it looked like his wood gathering in the dark was illuminated by his F-250’s headlights and light bar (what we call moose lights). I will give him points for not being in his back yard.

Cold handle frying pans, they’re still out there.

Those of us that spent a little time in the military have a name for that tasty dish. Looked so good so, I got busy in the kitchen this morning. Mine was made in cast iron pans. Great way to fuel up for a cool day. ……BB

    Paddle making extravaganza

Worm holes give a lot of character to the the sassafras beaver tail. I’ve always been drawn to imperfection's, wood grain, spalting, birds hug eyes and burls in wood. Student Teacher is a a lucky woman, tis great to be on Santa’s nice list.

    Christmas gifts

That’s what I do also, not really a knife maker, but I am a handle and sheath maker. Forging a blade is a dark art, best handed down from father to son. My father was a Power Lineman, he taught me not to play with power lines and never climb power poles. Those YP blades are very good and...

    Christmas gifts

In a the not too distance past, I’ve made some Ferro Rod, braided wax soaked Jute Fire Starter Tubes for my outdoorsy friends. The tube idea was floating around back in late December and early January on this forum in the winter of 2016-17. Easy to to make, plus worked quite nicely. I don’t...
