I go for the little creeks with narrow channels and absolute quiet except for the wildlife. A patch of water lillies against some reeds, maybe a Big old turtle on a log. Isabella Creek in the Quetico is one of my favorites.

Use an eye-bolt and washer. 1/4 -20 eyebolts should be found almost any hardware or big box, in stainless even. And unlike some plastic handles, it will never break.

So many coolers are IGBC certified it's surprising they aren't used more often.

I think sanding and coating would be fine for that. I only have skin Kevlar so just sand and spar, but I suspect yours require a different coating.

I have the pack version and like it. In the pack definitely stable enough for a frisky big dog.
