    Cold Hauling

What's the difference between it strapped to roof racks versus sitting in a cold building? Maybe it could be the compressive stress of the tie downs but seems not that significant.

Motorola "Defy" Satellite Link Attachment for Smartphones

If I understand, I think the only shortcoming, and slight, is that the defy requires all to use an app. I think most others, Zoleo for sure, just uses the common text and email apps. 6 months ago I upgraded from Spot 2 to Zoleo for my wife's benefit, but I think today I'd go with Defy...

What are your current solo canoes and how do you like them?

I have an SR Tranquility which I find fantastic for BWCAW/Quetico, which I find fast and stable even in white caps. I also have a Swift Prospector 14 Pack I use for Adirondack paddling. I like the Swift, but may change it for something in Royalex or T-Formax, so I don't have to worry about...

    My Perfect Solo River Canoe

I've only test paddled it, but the Esquif Echo, while a little heavy at 4t pounds, send very stable and the T-Formax kis pretty tough. Plus costs less than Kevlar. I like my sub 30 pound Swift Prospector pack, but sometimes wonder if the Echo would have suited me better

    Mini-, cordless Chainsaws

    Mini-, cordless Chainsaws

My EGO electric chain saws stop fast, practically instantly when I release trigger. I think it's the nature of electric motors, not brakes.

Motorola "Defy" Satellite Link Attachment for Smartphones

It's new, of course, and that can be a problem for a while BUT more significant, if I understand it, people you message have to use a Defy app. That's quite different than other satellite communicators I've looked at. That said, if I hadn't recently bought a Zoleo, I'd buy a Defy because it's...
