The bus has been hauled out of the bush and will be on display in Fairbanks. Several readers hiked to the bus and created excessive rescue situations.

Books that made a profound impact

I've got most of Cal Rustrum's books. I met Cal when I was a teenager and I traveled some of the same routes as he.

Invasive fish (northern pike) threatens Maine lakes. Huh?

Memaquay and Gamma have summed up my thoughts beyond my capability. If you can find those slimy buggers spawning in a creek, a 22LR does wonders on em. Pike lovers moved pike to the south side of the Alaska range into our best salmon areas including a few lakes of the Kenai River system. AND NO...

    Northern lights

It's been a phenomenal year here for the aurora borealis.......my neighbor is a very good photographer and caught this view over the Delta Clearwater River. The Delta Clearwater is mostly ice free all winter as it emanates from a very large spring and flows all year at 39F.

Opening Walleye season on Murkey Creek, Northern Ontario

It's hard to beat a good walleye dinner! I'm glad you didn't catch any jackfish to get slime on that nice canoe.

    Yukon river

Good advice above! I've done almost the entire Yukon and especially enjoyed the upper reaches that you are considering. I do like the Teslin River route. We usually leave our vehicle in Whitehorse and one member catches a flight back to Whitehorse for the vehicle while the other members enjoy...

    Researching a fishing/hunting paddle

I think this is your answer. Most often referred to as a skulling paddle to be used one handed over the side of a low-profile duck boat [skull boat] when paddling slowly toward a flock of ducks.

    Wolves

Wolves will not tolerate another canine in their area so keep your dogs close. In a hungry winter, wolves have come into Fairbanks and killed dogs and it happened here in my little town last winter.

    Wolves

Although I live in wolf country and see them occasionally, I consider wolves to be one of the most difficult hunting trophies of North America to acquire. Last fall while moose hunting from a barren ridge, I spotted a few wolves on an opposing ridge so three of us all howled in unison. They...

    Canoe Kit ????

I was in the REI store in Fairbanks yesterday and saw this canoe hanging on the wall. A young lady told me she thought her uncle bought it as a kit many years ago. Uncle was about to throw it in the landfill so she took it to the store for display. There's a lot of canoe experience on this...
