    Great input guys! I think after reading everyones input I'm definitely going to go Composite. I think the local shops sell Wenonah and Bell. Probably the Wilderness and Magic (the merlin II doesn't seem to be made anymore?) So I'll probably look into those first and go from there. Hopefully test...

    Bill is a great guy and runs such a great paddle shop! I'm located in Marquette and Big Bay is one of my favorite places to go hang out. Question. I know there is limited camping/ public shorelines between Big Bay/Marquette. How did you handle that part of the Hiawatha Water Trail?
