Any interest in a group paddle in the Tetons?

DanOver, I live in the Bighorn Basin. We average 6 inches of snow a year. We got twice our usual amount of snow

Wow DanOver, that sounds really nice. I hope you have a good trip. I know that many around here do fly fishing, and I have my dad

    Too many boats

Too many boats? That's the same kind of false reasoning as too many tents or too many backpacks or too many camp stoves or... . Cleaning cloths--now there's something that someone could have too many of.

Enjoy Temagmi. I hear the Marines will teach you how to climb a fence... I think they call it "defeating" a fence. Y'all have fun.

You might also look for Jackson, WY. If you can make it that far, the rest of the way is easy. Mostly.

Any interest in a group paddle in the Tetons?

Yeah, Mason, my standards are pretty high. Odyssey, I used to live near Ontario (Soo). You have many beautiful places to go, too. Maybe some other time. :-)

Any interest in a group paddle in the Tetons?

I wrote earlier about getting reservations on Leigh Lake in the Grand Tetons. The trip starts July 23, and is for four nights, so the paddle out would be July 27. That's a Monday through Friday. If anyone would be interested in joining me, I can provide more information. (Killer perverts...

Lightweight, Comfortable sleeping pad for big guy

I saw this on Massdrop a few weeks ago. I don't know what the Massdrop price is, and imagine you could get one less than this, but.. https://www.klymit.com/insulated-hammock-v-sleeping-pad.html The R value was 4.4. You might also look at Snugpak underquilt--they may call it an under...

    10,000 Islands NWR

Ahhh memories. I remember those green canoes with the WI logo, and the PFDs with the names of creatures... none of that looking for PFD 7. And I remember those little green bowls. Did you have Pesto Pasta? Salsa Smash? I really miss the Salsa Smash. I think I know where you were in relation...

    10,000 Islands NWR

I did that trip with Wilderness Inquiry about 7 years ago. I really enjoyed it. I am really jealous of your seeing manatees and sea turtles. I don't even remember if we saw dolphins, but I know I haven't seen the other two. We, too, were on White Horse Key... were you on the spit of land on...

East Branch Fox River - Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Boreal Birch's description seems close to what I remember seeing. There's an outfitter/campground in Germfask. He shuttled a group I was with and knew that river--I just don't know what river that was, off hand. Let's face it, none of the UP rivers are too long, they either go to Lake Michigan...

    fly-in cost?

Larry, I have one you could look at. And there's always a possibility that a deal on buying or renting might be had. :-)

    Birds in your boat?

Snakes... something of nightmares. Last year I rented a canoe on a little lake on the Gunflint Trail. The lady told the man, "Don't give her the one with the snake." YEAH! Don't give me the one with the snake. He didn't, and I had a nice little paddle.

    fly-in cost?

Would it be a good deal less expensive to use a packable canoe, like a Pakboat, instead of having to either strap a hard boat onto an airplane, or into that airplane? If you saved a few thousand dollars by using a pakboat it would make the purchase worthwhile. (I haven't been paying close...
