RIP J-Stroke: ACA No Longer Teaches the J-Stroke (EDIT: Or Does It?)

Did it make any difference if the bent shaft is less than 12 degrees? I am thinking of building a bent with slightly less bend (maybe 8 degrees)

RIP J-Stroke: ACA No Longer Teaches the J-Stroke (EDIT: Or Does It?)

Mike, you seem a little conflicted;). I had a similar issue with sea kayaking arm not letting me use a Greenland paddle in the early '90's.

Paddling into the future: Restoring the legendary Chestnut canoe for a new generation

Great progress on the restoration! My shoulders started aching for you just thinking about rubbing in the filler;). Do you plan on using the canoe down chase rapids? I brought my 1917 OT canvas guide down those rapids, pinned and cracked a rib on the canoe:cry:. Stay more center for sure!

    In Canoe Storage

I've used a combination of dry bags, wooden canoe boxes and a cabelas dry duffle. Duluth packs are awesome but I'm too cheap to buy one and have been too lazy to make my own. I agree with Bill Conner that they work well s long as you live them properly.

Poll: What type of vehicle is your usual canoe vehicle currently?

I'm not sure if there's more drag that way but the track sits kind of low so bow would bang on the roof of the truck if the racks were the same height. The angle is not so great that any canoe slid while I was tying them down.
