    Winter pants

Dickies Temp IQ. They are great all-around winter pants. They are not to warm for indoors and they have a little stretch. These: https://ramseyoutdoor.com/products/men-s-warning-temp-iq-duck-utility-pants-rinsed-brown-duck?srsltid=AfmBOooV1YrIgP-BdMX7Jm4SH4-ZcrY-aRKZE1pHOAhAw9-Re47u24AP

Moved from the Desert to the Sea

We have had the vacation house for about 12 years. We sold our house near Yakima Wa and moved to the coast full-time. Where abouts in Eastern Wa are you located?

Moved from the Desert to the Sea

We sold our house on the dry side of Wa State and moved into our vacation house on the Southwest Washington coast. We are literally surrounded by water. The Columbia River, Willapa Bay and the Pacific Ocean are all minutes away. There are also many small rivers and sloughs. I picked up a local...

    Outdoor Canoe Storage

I have used pulley systems to store them near the cieling in the past. I may do that again for one or two of them. I will hopefully be down to three canoes when we move. Maybe I will store one of the Royalex ones outside.

    Outdoor Canoe Storage

We are in the process of selling our home and relocating to our vacation home on the coast. I will lose my 5 bay shop. My canoes will need to live outdoors in a coastal environment. I am thinking of a covered rack of some kind. I am currently the caretaker of 4 canoes. Please share your ideas...

What are your current solo canoes and how do you like them?

Welcome! I currently live in central Washington State and will be relocating to Southwest Washington. Since you live in Northwest Washington, I assume you have paddled Diablo, Ross, and Gorge Lakes?

    1st Knife Recommendations

We presented the Opinel to him. When we arrived in camp he quickly started whittling. It wasn't long before I hear "Grampy, do we have any bandaids?" It was a minor laceration. I believe it gave him more respect for blades. His dad had also bought him a knive. He went with a Victorinox. My wife...

    Waldo Lake, Oregon

I spent three nights at Waldo Lake with my Son and Grandson. The original plan was for a longer trip with paddle in dispersed camping, but we settled for a campsite in the Shadow Bay Campground on the southeast side of the lake. The area is notorious for mosquitoes in early to midsummer. We...

    1st Knife Recommendations

I don't remember how old I was when I revieved my first knife. I was very young. As kids, it seems like my brother, friends and I always had knives. The first ones were traditional folders and then lockblades and fixed blades of varying quality. I did know a kid who nearly died from a knife...

    1st Knife Recommendations

Thank you for all of the great suggestions. I don't want to kill this thread, but I bought an Opinel Jr. No. 7. https://www.opinel-usa.com/products/opinel-no7-outdoor It was delivered yesterday. I am not sure about the rounded tip. I will need to get him a more traditional knife in the future...
