Do you roll, fold or stuff your tent?

Tent is a lean one. Lines on tent are rolled up and held in place with elastic hair bands. The tent is then stuffed in the stuff sack.

    Symmetrical vs. Asymmetrical Canoe Hulls

I will lend my opinion for both Glenn and Alan. To this end, I paddle with a dog and a good amount of gear. I day paddle local lakes and Wisconsin River main channel and backwaters and trip in the boreal-namely BWCA or Quetico, as well as Woodland Caribou. I paddle tandems rigged solo...

    Paddling in the Pool

Your pics look great. I especially liked the pictures of the poling. I am starting to learn this, but when traveling with a dog the difficulty level increases. I used to love to paddle the flooded timber in the spring on the Wisconsin River … we do not get flooded anymore … perpetual low...

Congrats on getting a great canoe! The Polaris is reasonably fast and does well in wind. It will hold a good amount of gear and makes an excel tripper. You are going to love this canoe! Bob.

    WTB Mid-Weight Tandem Tripper

NorthStar Polaris. Pretty spendy in black lite carbon Kevlar but an excellent 17 foot tripper can be paddled tandem or solo. weighs under 45 pound I believe, tougher than woodpecker lips! Pretty fast, maneuverable-all around good tripper. https://www.northstarcanoes.com/canoe/polaris/ Bob

Florida day tripping with Jake and my Wife …

I went to Florida last year with Jake only. We were going to all go together, but life got in the way and it was only Jake and I. She was a bit hesitant then as well as this trip, not knowing what to expect and being Leary of Alligators and the current of the springs etc. I was confident she...

Florida day tripping with Jake and my Wife …

Alan, it is funny, I was driving just South of Monroe on the last leg home when I had a blue bird keep pace with truck for a bit, then fly off. I remember thinking it is too early for them. We just got home on a 55 degree sunny day and read your post. Early March does indeed have robins and...

Florida day tripping with Jake and my Wife …

Hey Glen. That stretch of water is a little off shoot on Rainbow Springs. It is very easy to miss, a bit of a tunnel in the bush that goes back a mile or so … to a fence that indicates it is a restricted area. It is very scenic, best part of the trip that day. The last pics are from our...
