Route to Erickson Lake, SK

I'm planning a bucket list trip (Summer 2027) to visit Erickson Lake SK (56.75207, -103.89592) named after my Grandfather as part of the GeoMemorial Naming Program honoring fallen soldiers. Looking for anyone with experience in this area. I'm a Northern Ontario boy and not familiar with Northern SK. Was thinking of coming in along the Ross River from 905 to Gunderson, McKeen Lake, and portage over to Buss Lakes to access. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated.

I haven't been to Erickson Lake. But, I think a more direct approach would be to begin at Davin Lake (there is a small lodge there) and go via Peters Lake to Pasterfield Lake, then upstream to Erickson.
