    Experimenting With Ceramic Coatings

Very interesting. I've used a rub on version on cars and it works, IMHO better than wax. Now iam just using a product that clames to be a gel coat sealer. The canoe is no faster, but it doesn't leave a sheen behind it when I get to the water. Thanks for sharing.

The Tangerine Dream arrived early! (New Hemlock SRT)

Very, very, nice! Please tell us more about the seat, thwarts, and handles. They look great, any weight savings, and are the thwarts and handles oiled or varnished? Good luck with it hope you have good adventures with it.

    Need suggestions for backcountry tent??

I use a eureka midori 1. It's a one person aluminum pole tent. 36" w by 88" L and 36" H. I like it, has good vestibules, and has good ventilation. I also am a fan of hammocks, but don't use them often on canoe trips. One of the main reasons is I find them not comfortable for "hanging out"...

    Straps Break?

I have seen a picture of this happen to a Hornbeck. What a heart break for him, and luck to the cars behind him. I have tulle straps and as mentioned on the other thread, iam gonna look for that tracer cord. I like the idea of two straps on the front. I would be very upset if my boat got tacoed...

New cars: are they as impossible as they seem for cartopping?

Yes it's all to much tech. This could be part of why used car are holding there value? Iam with the less/ no tech crowd on this one for sure.

    If I’m hauling there’s weather.

How often do you all replace the webbing straps? I have a pair that's about 4 years old, and was thinking about doing so. I like the idea of tying to the thwart, one more connection. I was also thinking about pushing the boat back (6" to 12"), any thoughts on that would be appreciated, as of now...

    A perfect paddling day - I didn’t go

You know you. Like a fire, build it slow, and watch it grow! No new news hear. Reinjury makes it much more complicated, and much longer to recover. Good luck.

Show us pictures of your canoe vehicle with boat(s)

Why not! Its all relative! Not great on gas, and mantance is costly, for sure. Probably need a laywer on retainer as well. But cool. Never really thought about high end transport, to the degree of classic vettes, mg's, and jaguars. But if you gotta get on the water, ther might be no better way...

Show us pictures of your canoe vehicle with boat(s)

All ready to go, but it will only carry one canoe. She is lifted with a full aero skid plate. And for winter travel it can be outfitted with studded tyres. I know this thread is canoes and cars, but I could not afford to get my canoe up there. Truly insane car!

Tarp type and set-up style, and let's see some pix

Pat, nice aera. Is that a durston tent? If it is what poles do you carry? I always carry a tarp, either a 10x10 or a asymmetric. They have saved me a few times. With them, I carry a pre maid ridge line (like the one I use for a hammock tarp) and 6-8 guy lines of different lengths. You guys are...

Northstar Polaris dedicated solo just arrived!

Congrats, sweet boat. Depending on your rack system, there are "L" shaped holders, that secure the sides more, they bolt on. It's seems like boats with tumbohome are more subjective to "dancing around" on the rack, if that makes sense. But great boat hope you enjoy it!
