    Wabakimi 2020 - any plans?

Hey Mark! Thanks for the information on your previous trip into WPP. Did you happen to bring along a fishing pole? And of so, any walleye (pickerel) spots that were more productive than others along the route? Also, I'll certainly take that contact info regarding parking. If you'd prefer to...

    Wabakimi 2020 - any plans?

Hey gang, Just wanted to create a thread and ask if there are any trippers that would consider collaborating a co-solo canoe adventure this summer (July/August). Although I've never been to Wabakimi Provincial Park, I'm an experienced outdoorsman and enjoy exploring new areas while fishing and...

Just doing a little revisiting and day dreaming. Robin: you did this route solo? How many days required for a leisurely trip with fishing do you figure?

Algonquin Park secret lake hotspot - Freedom of Information Act used to find identity

Just returned from this lake and it is everything Mike has shown in his videos. Arguably my best brook trout fishing trip ever, but also the most challenging to get to. Two fit men took 6 days to fish it for a day. One day we traversed over 30km's, half of them over land.

    Pots with Bail Handles

I have the three stainless steel pots (48oz, 64oz, 120oz) that are offered by Dave Canterbury on his Self Reliance website. I use them almost exclusively and find them bomb proof, These are incredibly well made (in China) but to Dave Canterbury's specifications, so they are definitely robust...

They are OUT and they are MEAN

I saw one mosquito and two black flies from May 16th to the 21st in northern Ontario, Canada. Eat your heart out! ;)

    Swift Prospector 15

Saw one two days ago while tripping in APP. The fella that had it swore by it. It looked very impressive with the shouldered tumblehome. He had his medium sized dog (Lab) with him. I believe it is brand new for 2018. Apparently he paid $4200 CND for the layup and adjustable carbon fiber seat shelf.

    Reflective Tarp Line, in quantity?

I also recommend the Lawson brand of reflective cordage. Just used it for a week in the bush and it performed exactly as expected - used as ridge lines and guy outs. Very reflective and strong as anything else ive used.

    WTB: Canoe Pack

I have a Chinook and it's very robust and affordable. I have pounded it to death and still it serves me well. I also have a #4 Duluth to compare it to and both are very durable and functional, but the Chinnok is great if youre on a budget...
