I have three poles that I bought from CCS. Two of the shorter ones and one of the taller. That seems to work for me. They were not inexpensive but I liked the infinitely adjustable last section for fine tuning the height.

I found out too late about this set that was offered at a local auction. Even though it was quite a bit of money I still feel bad I didn’t know about it. I would have bid at least a couple of times.

Just throwing out an idea. Anybody remember that tv show Eureka? In season 3 episode 9 there were mysterious gravity wells that kept plaguing the town making things really heavy. Perhaps that is what is going on.
