First paddle of the season. Took the cooler along to see how it fit with myself and it in the boat. Seemed to be fine, the big test will be next month when I take it on a week long trip through the Missouri River Breaks.

Thanks! Yes, they do resemble Jeep latches, great eye, never even thought of that. I thought about a stand, but don’t think I’m going to make one. Planning on running the Missouri River Breaks in May, get to see how the cooler works then.
Getting closer to finishing this off. It became strictly a cooler. It has 1” of insulation on the sides, with 2” on the top and bottom. Epoxy and glass is all done. Need to sand and varnish.
Didn’t get around to building a second canoe this winter. So decided to make a wannigan/cooler with some left over strips. Not done yet, but have a good start.
Not a Tilley, but similar. I have one and love it. Made in the USA which is important to me.
