The Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park is an unmaintained park located about an hour south of Algonquin Provincial Park in central Ontario. Because this park has an "unmaintained" status, you will not find any services here...no ranger station, no parking lot, no guide books. It's kind of like camping on crown land, and you don't have to buy a permit! Someday this may become an established park, but in the meantime, my son Brad and I head out a few times each year to explore sections of the park. We document our routes, shoot some videos and post them on Youtube or our website www.explorethebackcountry.com
Here's a video we shot in June 2013 highlighting a route to Smudge Lake and Bon Lake.

Cheers
Wayne
