Souris River Quetico 17 in Kevlar

Hidden Lo, I've never paddled that boat, but I like bigger boats even for solo. Being that you take a lot of gear and don't like the feeling of plowing through the water the bigger boat may work better for you. My experience has been that the more I paddle a big boat solo the more I get used to it and the easier it feels. In general I think bigger boats are more stable, float higher, easier to load and at least for me are easier to get over obstacles like beaver dams.

I decided on the 17. I figured it would be better overall for when i am not alone and would be good enough when i solo. and the weight is near enough the same as my solo canoe...now I just have to wait until June for delivery...Thanks for everyones input

Good for you, and down the line you can find another canoe for solo if you need one.
