Maine Canoe Symposium June 10-12

I suppose its too late to register but I am looking forward to some of the presentations; especially Kevin Callan's take on Group Dynamics and Paddling Ontario 2 (though I wonder where Paddling Ontario 1 is)
Teaching at 6:30 is a blast as the camp has first breakfast at 5 am. Coffee fruit and donuts.. Enough to fuel for a class than back at 8 for breakfast 2.
Sunrise is at 4:45 am.

YC...I have been on the mailing list for years and regret never attending. I am making it a priority to attend in '17 with my family....school out or not LOL
Are you an instructor there?

Yep but there are some 50 volunteer instructors all with special things to share

I guess it has grown over the years too, correct?

If I bring my kids, they wont be the only ones their age will they? They young teenagers.

the kids program is really strong..That includes younger teens.. Older teens 16 plus run the kids program under adult supervison. Its kind of up to your teen how they feel about that. This year we had about 40 kids from 4-14. There were a few young teens. Its possible that my grandson will come next year when he is 14. He wont allow his younger bro to come( he wants to get away from him! That one is 10)

Its grown some over the years but limited to 150 as the fire marshal gets too excited if there are more in the dining hall.

Sounds great. Good to know there's a limit on the # of people.
Is it always the second Saturday in June or not necessarily?

Usually but it depends on Winona Camps schedule. They are the hosts and use MCS as training for their kitchen staff to prepare for the boys coming in later in the month for summer camp.Watch the website for updates. Still got 2016
