A short quick rough translation.
Esquif will be fabricating their T-Formex boats this autumn 2015, after having closed last March. They will be going into production of T-Formex, which is a new product of ABS with a foam core, and very resistant to abrasion and impact, as well as UV. It is considered ultra light. Canoe building remains a priority to Esquif.

Thanks guy for the english one.... I don't want to be pessimistic, but until that Tformex get tested( it didn't as far as I know) I'm skeptical of all there marketing hype. Just like the Canyon being a the best river/big water tripping canoe out there... It is not. With all the problem they had with the L'Edge cracking in all the different generation and modification(L'Edge light) and with the Twintex in the Zephyr, I will believe in it when I see that it passe the test of time. Until then I will paddle my different composite canoe I have that have been great on everything but creeking run!! I really hope it is as good as they say it will be but it is really hard to believe it since the stuff doesn't exist yet...:p

I just hope that the new material turns out to be something better than royalex, so that the prediction I made over a year ago will be correct. :)

That is the best news I’ve heard on the canoe front in a couple of years. I hope that T-formex proves to be a viable replacement for Royalex and becomes available at a cost that allows other manufacturers to resume production of some now-defunct models.

I have no plans to buy a new canoe, and if I did I’m at the age where weight would be a primary factor. Even so one overriding factor for me in material choice remains DIY reparability and adhesive outfitting.

If I can’t repair in with epoxy, G/flex or some other generally available product, without vacuum bags or specialty equipment, I’m not interested. Same if I can’t adhere minicel or vinyl pad D-rings using contact cement, Vynabond or epoxy.

As far as I know that remains to be seen.
