This is the film that almost finished Bill Masons career at NFB before it even started!. Not only is he one of the photographers but he is a paddling extra in a number of scenes. According to "Fire in the Bones" he was very disappointed in the lack of historical accuracy ( dress, paddles, etc.) and especially disgusted at the behaviour of the film crew and cast in Georgian Bay.
