    The iliad molds and design were not Mr. Coffin. John Ffield was the founder and designer.

    Mr Coffin didn't make the iliad molds my father John Ffield did that and founded the company. Coffin's paddles were the reason my father founded iliad. He knew he could do better.

    Definitely pre - Coffin. These came from my father's molds. 77-8? My Dad was SCREWED out of his company his paddles got Mr. Coffins name on them later. Coffins design previous to owning my fathers company was clunky and just generally infirior.

    I do not own an iliad padde, however if anyone has one they are not using i will gladly purchase it. I both kayak & canoe.

    You have a first generation paddle. Some of the earliest even had a build number on the tag in the paddle.

    The iliad paddle was not designed by Coffin at all it was designed by my father John Ffield. If you look at the label on the yellow shafted paddle with the grey handle the lable will say nothing about Mr Coffin. That paddle was made in my father's basmet i68 Circuit st. Norwell Ma. To be...

    My father.john Ffield founded Iliad not Stu Coffin. That is why there was such a huge difference between the two paddles. Coffin should not be credited for my father's work.
