    Well I made one

I started this in 7/17 with plans to use the pole on our 6 day river trip in 9/17. Mother nature had other ideas and sent a hurricane to keep us off the river. Well we went this year and mother nature cut out 6 day trip in half with another hurricane. That is ok at least we got to go. I used my...

    Well I made one

Well I'm here again. Last year didn't go so well. Between family health issues, a hurricane, and rotor cuff damage of one of the trippers we were not able to make any trips. So i still haven't tested my pole yet. This year is going to be better (I hope). Got a trip planned mid March with my...

    Well I made one

Muskrat thank you very much for the info. I'm going to try and get out this week and test the canoe and the pole I made. It might come to me not liking to pole all the time or I might love it. A lot depends on my ability to pole as I am somewhat handicapped with COPD. Tell me more or give me a...

    Well I made one

Thanks Muskrat. What diameter pole do you get? I looked on the website and did not see any other diameter tube to join them together. Did you get them some other place? How heavy is the finished product?

    Well I made one

Muskrat I'm glad to hear a foot is not needed. Thanks. We usually all solo. For the last 3-4 years only three of us go but we might pick up a couple more this year. All depends if the others grow a set. I had thought about an aluminum pole but now that you mentioned lightning I'm glad I chose...

    Well I made one

I'm new to the forum and canoeing. I started reading the poling articles and thought poling would be the fix to a situation we get in on our trips down the Oconee River in Georgia from below the Millageville dam to Highway 57 near Toomsboro.. We trip from 3-6 days down the river. Our load is...

    Glad to be here

I used the G2. I put 4 thin coats on like they the instruction video said. Only used 1/2 of the 1/2 gallon kit. Sure is slick.

    Glad to be here

Thanks for the warm welcome. The trip I mentioned is our annual Oconee River trip. We do others in between on the Flint River, Ocmulgee River, Lake Blackshear, Chattahoochee River and the Okefenokee Swamp to name a few of the places we go.

    Glad to be here

Just wanted to stop in and say hello. Been paddling a few years just not in a canoe...yet. I picked up a 2000 model Mohawk Blazer 16. Going to trip it on our next annual trip down the Oconee River here in Ga. Cleaned it up and put Gator Glide on the bottom to help skip over logs and shallow...
