    La Verendrye - Nicobyzard

Thanks so much for sharing your entertaining and well written TR with us! I especially liked the detailed nature of your story telling, as well as including some info on your pre and post-trip days. It brings back good memories of my wilderness trips 20-25 years ago!

    Possible Canoecopia adventure

My husband and I have been planning a 2026 spring road trip... would be our first in 3 years! As I've mentioned before, we walked away from paddling in 2021. The main reason is difficulty in loading canoes and shuttling, as I no longer drive. We've wondered how we could include paddling in...

    Overcoming Fear of Whitewater

Thanks for sharing your interesting experience., Sam. It sounds kind of scary to me...but my main whitewater trips were C3 on guided rafting trips. Fear and respect of ww kept me at c2 level in my Black Hawk FishHawk, not exactly a WW boat, to be sure.

What are your current solo canoes and how do you like them?

Steve, are the lakes frozen yet in the areas where the canoes are located.? If not. perhaps you could take a a test paddle on a nearby pond or stream. Do private sellers even do that option these days? Even if you wind up not purchasing, at least you will have had a scenic drive... Gail

Good morning... i was wondering if any one here has joined this Facebook group? I posted a message today, but it didnt appear on their page. Then I noticed that the last msg from Steve T (admin) was posted in late November. Do posts have to be vetted first? If so, doesn't seem like there's...

    Overcoming Fear of Whitewater

The highest grade WW my husband and I ran successfully on wilderness trips was C2+. Not having had WW instruction, we weren't confident to try C3 or above. We took these trips, to BWCA and Quetico , 20-30 years ago, so before sat com existed. Heres a couple of questions re: solo trips and WW...

    New River Tripper

Very sweet boat ! Did you purchase it from a local dealer, or was it shipped from Canada (quebec)? Noticed the location of the bow seat... Will you be using for solo tripping ?

Erica. How is that even possible? Unless...the entire "compendium" of bird songs is downloaded onto your PC/phone when you download the app? I've just used the Audubon app for birdibg IDs... i think I'll give Merlin a try. I've forgotten so much since my ornithology class ... we had to ID...

    AI compares CanoeTripping.net with P.com

Black Fly... very well expressed! yes, I totally agree... this is the best online forum I've ever discovered for all the reasons that you've mentioned. I am truly amazed by all the members who have spent 50 or more years pursuing the canoeing life. And, even though we have different ways of...
