    Yakima load stops to avoid

I see how the Yakima is not as robust as the Thule. Now 30 years later I know that I chose the correct brand with Thule, although they are being made in Asia instead of Sweden now.

Another new guy looking for advice on first quality canoe

I would pay $875 if I were in the market. You can double blade any solo as long as the blade is long enough. Less angle will mean dryer legs. :) It looks like they have snaps for a paddling cover, ask if they have the cover for it. It would make a nice option to stay dry, and even warmer in the...

Global distribution of lakes, where most lakes can be found...

Turns out that 62% of the world's lakes are in Canada, and 9% of the surface area is covered by freshwater. Smaller lakes (or they may be large depending on your relative viewpoint) were included in the study, lakes larger than 10 hectares in area, about 25 acres. So of the world's 1,420,000...

Congratulations on the Cruiser, they are a most sought after Sawyer canoe. Is it fiberglass or Kevlar? I don't that you would need to limit yourself to fiberglass with your $1000 budget, there are several nice used Kevlar's on the market right now. What is your location and how fare are you...

Finding a Solo Boat For Buffalo Bob.

Are you perhaps considering that one in Essex Junction? $1250 vs. $3295, hmmm. Decisions decisions..There seem to be plenty of nice used boats on CL lately, prices are reasonable too. If I were you and didn't paddle a particular boat before buying it new, I would buy used and sell it if i didn't...

Finding a Solo Boat For Buffalo Bob.

Here are some specs on the Independence. I imagine that they probably made a kevlar version. The Mad River Independence is the solo version of the famous Malecite, built for paddlers 150 lbs. and over. Mad River Canoe's spec sheet indicates a 6" freeboard load of 700 lbs, but it would be foolish...

Finding a Solo Boat For Buffalo Bob.

How about a Mad River Malecite? Located in MA. Price may be a bit on the high side, but Mad River made some solid boats in the day.

Does it need to be a Starfire, or will any similar model between 14 and 16 do? Patience usually pays off. Where are you located? There is a dragonfly located near DC .
