Which of 4 boats? So far...

All in all a good experience - hopefully we will be able to do some paddling soon. Any folk with perspective on the range of layups available, from Northstar or others? I have not seen much objective analysis and certainly few comparisons among specific offerings. I am still a little hesitant...

Greetings - I made a decision - instead of any of the above boats went for a Northstar Northwind Solo in Starlight. Initially was tracking down a Phoenix in IXP but thought longer, straighter lighter better suited my needs right now. Curious to see if stiff enough and was leaning to boats...

H2O has a 16/6 solo (25" wide and 1"/.5" rocker) and a 15 solo, bit wider and more rocker.

    Strap Yoke Variation

Further to this discussion - hanging loops or scuppers to accommodate a prusik hitch would work well, Adjustable option could include "G hook" that could hook into loop on one side and tighten as necessary.

More than one boat ... I am in dangerous company on this site, a crowd full of enablers ... above offer of a Prism - my sense is that a boat like that and H2O 16/6 more for hit and switch and long straight lines, maybe that will be my 3rd solo for fitness. Looking to kneel and paddle for the...

WPSCA event does look very appealing - many references to it throughout posts on various sites...good points about markets, again, the challenge of time and other commitments, a lovely trip to make that time of year but not a quick trip from the Ottawa area. Osprey price went up $100 last week...

Thank you for the input - spent some time with a very long thread (on several sites) from "Sabi" out on Vancouver Island, great information about a number of issues and considerations...worth looking at for anyone with curiosity about boats, entrylines, length width ratio etc.. I think some of...

A good start, thank you for the input - my sense was from reading other posts that the Keewaydin design was moving to something a bit more stable and predictable, which is a good thing I suppose but something in my head wants to be challenged...I think too that I am being a little impatient...

I am looking to enter the world of solo canoes...I have posted within other topics but thought more direct approach might be helpful. I am looking at a few boats that are available and seem to fit my needs but curious to see what others think of boats and prices for the used ones... 6'0" tall...

Starting From Scratch: My Solo Canoe Shortlist

Alright - some amazing options here and as most folk indicate, get them in the water...thought I would jump in and see if I could take a new tack. I am looking to pick up a solo boat - American boats not really an option with exchange and little desire to do a cross border run. How about some...
