I'm in the beginning stages of planning a trip on the Albany river and as I look at the cost of buying the necessary maps, I'm trying to figure out if there's a cheaper approach than ordering $400+ worth of 1:50,000 maps? Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated. -tomo

I use the ridgeline stuff sack as well. I use zing it for the tie outs, and have recently swapped out the ridgeline prussiks for these: Nama Claws

I have a throw bag affixed to the stern deck of my canoe. In the event of a swim, I would in theory swim the rope to shore and attempt to haul in the canoe. I would not attach said rope to myself.
