When I built my carbon copy Kite, I made a temporary seat pedestal, put the tractor seat on it, and took the boat out of a test ride. Once I was satisfied with the seat placement, I made the pedestal for it. Seat itself is adjustable, of course.

Gamma, I installed and removed the seat in that DY several times... The short thwarts at each end always stayed in place, the center thwart had to be removed to allow the hull to flex. It was fairly stiff, but again, there was no permanent deformation.
