Definately a fixture. 2/3 of my Allegash trips were him or his associates. Presumably he has someone that’s going to take over? The trip isn’t as popular as it once was but I’m sure there’s still plenty of interest. As of last year it was for sale and I never heard if there was a buyer.

I honestly might just use it as an excuse to pickup a lighter canoe at some point. The Northstar Solo in IXP I've really intended to be my north maine woods trip boat where I'm not portaging but I am slamming into the occasional rock. I didn't have that problem here.

I'll caution that the channel is smaller than it looks in that photo. The starting section really almost looks like just more forest. But I think it could be done if you don't mind dragging.
