Might be too much grip for paddling, but the palm-dipped gloves are very puncture resistant and have jersey backs. I used them a LOT when I was doing tree work. Your local gas station probably has them for $6/pair. Even cheaper will be to buy a multi-pack from Amazon or U-Line.

From the specs, the Prism *seems* to be pretty much just a slightly smaller Encounter. FWIW, I currently plan to run the MR340 in 2027 with my Encounter. Unless I find a Prism cheap.... PRISM: ENCOUNTER: I would think most boats that have a straight-tracking keel line and enough freeboard...

I still use my tyvek in my lean 3: it goes under my sleeping pad.

I use a piece of Tyvek with grommets or a tiny Klymit tarp that I got as a promotional item from an outdoors store. Works great for tent vestibules, or more commonly for me, under a hammock.

With the pro straps and a hand wrap, it's 127 grams / 4.5 ounces. The original straps are lighter, probably taking the unit under 100 grams. I dont have them anymore to check.

I have used these for a good bit now. Very happy with the purchase. I upgraded the straps to the "pro" version, which was totally worth it and the only way I would recommend ordering them. No more weird wrist angles or paddles/poles trying to scissor apart on the trail. The weight is negligible...
