Skin-protective, fast-drying, warm weather paddling gloves

Might be too much grip for paddling, but the palm-dipped gloves are very puncture resistant and have jersey backs. I used them a LOT when I was doing tree work. Your local gas station probably has them for $6/pair. Even cheaper will be to buy a multi-pack from Amazon or U-Line.

    Bigger Water Solo

From the specs, the Prism *seems* to be pretty much just a slightly smaller Encounter. FWIW, I currently plan to run the MR340 in 2027 with my Encounter. Unless I find a Prism cheap.... PRISM: ENCOUNTER: I would think most boats that have a straight-tracking keel line and enough freeboard...

Wanna Paddle Lake Superior in February

Yes, but I also want to see my kids grow up.

    "Door mat" for tent entrance

I still use my tyvek in my lean 3: it goes under my sleeping pad.

    "Door mat" for tent entrance

I use a piece of Tyvek with grommets or a tiny Klymit tarp that I got as a promotional item from an outdoors store. Works great for tent vestibules, or more commonly for me, under a hammock.

New Swift Prospector 15 Solo - Specs?

We definitely have to meet-up to exchange some testing opportunities.

New Swift Prospector 15 Solo - Specs?

Yes. The DF15 is a very fun paddle. It is significantly more lively than the P15S, with a rounder, narrower hull. It had more primary stability than my SuperNova, but less secondary. Shallower radius, but less chord, if that makes sense. It dumped at least one paddler on Saturday, maybe two...

New Swift Prospector 15 Solo - Specs?

@ABT When you say "pulled in an inch from the factory", is that something you did, you requested, or how Swift typically modifies the boat?

    Omigudnes, that boat is gorgeous!

New Swift Prospector 15 Solo - Specs?

Haha, I should have put a post up on here. We had to have seen each other unless you got there after 3p or in and out while I was at lunch. I was the biggest guy with green pants, a black hoodie, and a mustache. I'm actually not confident you dont have my legs in the top right of your photo, but...

New Swift Prospector 15 Solo - Specs?

Update: I went to Swift's demo day at Rutabaga yesterday and paddled the P15 Solo. Double blade, beaver tail, and bent shaft, the craft was pleasant to paddle. I actually much preferred the single blades over the double, which is not always the case with the boats I have paddled. The good...

    Prospector or……

How much payload? The Northstar Polaris is exactly "an all around tandem that will paddle well as a solo".

PortagePal to carry paddles and fishing rods

With the pro straps and a hand wrap, it's 127 grams / 4.5 ounces. The original straps are lighter, probably taking the unit under 100 grams. I dont have them anymore to check.

PortagePal to carry paddles and fishing rods

I have used these for a good bit now. Very happy with the purchase. I upgraded the straps to the "pro" version, which was totally worth it and the only way I would recommend ordering them. No more weird wrist angles or paddles/poles trying to scissor apart on the trail. The weight is negligible...
