Help me upgrade from my current solo: Wenonah Vagabond

Funny you mention that... I visited the dealer a couple weeks ago and got to see Northstars alongside Swifts. I was pretty surprised at how um....workmanlike the Northstars were. Sharp resin ridges all inside the hull, the raised seam in the middle from the mold, etc. The Swift next to it was...

Help me upgrade from my current solo: Wenonah Vagabond

I've had a couple of royalex Wenonah solos over the last several years, and spent most of that time in a Vagabond. It's served me well for general plunking around and fishing, but I'm ready to get something new and hopefully my first composite canoe. My only real beef with the Vagabond is that...

WTB - A decent composite solo in the southeast?

Same here! I was mostly fine until I went to Knoxville over the weekend and got to see and touch and smell new Northstar, Swift, and Wenonah composite canoes. There's a dealer there that keeps them in stock. My credit card was smoking in my pocket lol

I appreciate the welcome and the advice y'all! I've been scouring the local Craigslist and Marketplace. It's a real dry zone here for paddlecraft unless you want a SOT kayak. But imma tryin'!

It was definitely a handy and thrifty ride, I do miss it. Paid $500 for it, drove it for a couple years, put a head gasket on it (these love blowing head gaskets), drove it for a few months and sold it for $1500. 5 speed, crank windows, 30+mpg, STYLISH 😁

WTB - A decent composite solo in the southeast?

I just thought I'd toss out a line and see if anyone in the AL/GA/TN vicinity had a solo that they would part with. I'm ready to upgrade from a RX Vagabond that I've used for years and would like something a little more efficient in composite that would be nice on flat water. If you have...

Thanks man! It's been a good truck, I've had it for about 12 years now. It's an '85 SR5

New guy here from way down south... Here are my canoe haulers from the last few years. I still have the trucks, but the Escort Draggin Wagon of Death has moved on to browner pastures. :D Honestly it was the best hauler, as I had a steel rack made from tubing and welded straight to the roof...
