I bought a 17' Coleman Ram for my son that I named "Big and Ugly" It's a great boat when the Allagash is low.

Camera in the left pocket and I USED to carry SPOT in the right but now I have an Inreach that doesn't fit in the PFD so it's just a camera. But then I don't paddle in big water.

We tend to go with BYOB&L (Bring your own Breakfast and Lunch) followed by IGtCYBYOA (I got the coffee you bring your own additives) and then assign the planning and prep of the evening meals out by boat.

We had a great time at the MCS just before Covid, but my son wants to do the Allagash starting the 10th.

They are out there at a wide range of prices, you just have to do the leg work. Just don't call them 'Antique Cowboy Skillets'. $15 is a good price for them, I paid $20 for a 14". A while back we were at a shop, I was waiting at the register for my wife when a guy walked in with a 6" pan and...

She's not aware of the Volume of equipment I have, nor is she aware of all the tools I have. She does appreciate it when I have to do something for her and I have the tool to do it with. On the flip side, most days I bring in packages of fabric from the mailbox.
