    I do pack some comfort items that could be left at home, but my biggest problem, still, is packing more food than I need. I think trip planning is just as important. I will always double carry, just won't push as far.

    I love paddling alone. I go with my sons a couple'ah, three times a year, but there is nothing like being alone in the woods on a well laid out easy trip. No real schedule, just time alone.

    Wood canvas canoe gathering?

    I've driven my wife's Nissan Versa to Canada with the canoe on top a couple of times. It gets a little squirrelly in bad weather and around big trucks but I'm saving money
