This is what I do as well. But I'm 6ft with a fairly narrow canoe, so I'm not certain that would work for everyone.

According to the map we got about 9 inches, which sounds about right. Looks like I was just outside of the worst of the accumulation. They got about 14" in the town I work, so driving into that Monday morning was an adventure.

So this only just occurred to me today after writing my response earlier. I got my Trillium converted from a pack seat to a standard canoe seat with 4" seated drops, so I'm not sure my current yoke setup is going to work. I guess I'll have to figure that out.
