Found snowshoe bindings but not available in the US

With warm weather accosting the opaque water region I’m certain there won’t be additional snow traipsing opportunities this year. Hopefully, I’ll get to Ontario on a paddling trip and can arrange to pick up some decent bindings that don’t use finger freezing lacing or leather that stretches...

Found snowshoe bindings but not available in the US

those look interesting. Pricey, but if they stay adjusted…. I swore off leather bindings because of stretch, but those have nylon webbing, and bison leather should be more stable. Thanks, something to ponder.

Found snowshoe bindings but not available in the US

I’m using Super A bindings. Looking to simplify entry. These are some recommended by Hap Wilson, which resemble the design I’ve found

Found snowshoe bindings but not available in the US

These bindings are similar to some I’ve been looking to try, but the two vendors shown won’t ship to the U.S. Anyone know of another source? The goal is to speed up getting my shoes on at the trailhead, without freezing my digits by fiddling with laces. I’ve tried several bindings and they...

    Remackel 4-Canoe Trailer

Sorry, just sold the trailer. A totally great experience watching it drive off to more adventures with a father who takes his son’s and another family to BWCA every year. A satisfying sale.

    2020 Northstar Magic For Sale

Sorry, loved that boat. Replaced it with a NW Solo for lake country. More stable loaded for older me and the pup, and a few lbs lighter. Trying to be responsible and practice good Seiren Seiri. Disposing of gear and clutter so my wife won’t be too burdened when I go under, which I’ve decided...

The New Swift/DY Redesign of the Dragonfly

Well, I still own my first and last swift boat, the P14 in “expedition Kevlar” and GELCOAT, a beautiful finish that cracks with every bump, weighs more than it needs to. Love the hull shape and the Kevlar is tough, hate the finish and the proprietary details in this boat. A guy’s coming to get...

Safest places to canoe in the USA after a nuclear war

I used to think if we left home for NW WI when things got dicey, we’d be able to head to the border and escape north. I think we went over this some time back here. More recently, I asked a relative and former National Security Council member who worked the Sit Room under W. He’s pretty...

Safest places to canoe in the USA after a nuclear war

Ha ha, I thought boomers was being used in a derogatory sense, and dolphins referred to environmentalists. Guess I shouldn’t read from the bottom up. Thanks to all who’ve served in strategic defense roles. Porpoise subs especially. That’s gotta be tough duty.

    What the Shell?

I’m getting the Grunden breathable jacket sized up for snowshoeing. Blaze orange so they can find my corpse and because public land around here often has hunters. Thanks for he help.

The correct name is porpoise. You got a problem with porpoises?

NE MN is downwind from Minot AFB, where nukes are based. There are also Canadian targets. We’re just screwed.

    Power stroke may be tough

Doc said I’ll be normal in 8 weeks. I’ll likely want to get out before then. March and April days can be lovely paddle days here. Would kneeling take some of the load off my power stroke? I’ll likely just J stroke on the left, but wind and current are pretty ubiquitous on the local lake. My...
