Up here in Quebec we do not have to worry about canoeing partner contagion as all our rivers and lakes run only North - South and here the wind only blows form the West.;).
We also practice safe sex which means sleeping in our own tents.:cool:
Stay safe guys.

Hey BF, Trying to be realistic. So far the virus is still scoring points on our D-fence and we are already mid-April. As The Prophet says: "The more you do without, the more you'll appreciate". It's going to be great to get out there again. Happy trails man.

The way I see it the return to normal will be slow until we are all vaccinated. Borders will probably remained closed to the general public until then. It will probably be difficult for us Canadians to use our parks and canoeing areas this calendar year. The older we are the longer it will take...
Looking for entertainment during the lockup. Here's my favourite outdoorsy channel:

Hey Glen, how about Québec's Bonaventure River situated in the Gaspé region. Lots of info on the net and it may fill your criteria. Not to far from Eastern USA.

I set up my bedding, clothing, etc. inside the tent and cover everything with a guide tarp. So if dog is dirty and/or wet nothing gets dirty or soaked.
Nothing like waking up in the morning with the dog snuggled next to you.

Sorry for Doug's lost.
I've had a few canoe dogs over the many years in the bush. They can be a tight squeeze in small solo boats like an Argosy so I train them to stay down in front of me where I can control them.
