You mean you're supposed to CLEAN your Tilley? I always just fished mine out of the lake. I forgot to post it, but I found a Canadian made Tilley AirFlo hat last year. Happy again!

I use a small dry bag. The ends loop easily over a thwart and lock so if there is a spill the items are secured to the canoe. The photos do not show it well, but if you look closely you can see the dry bag attached in front of the paddler's position (green in one case, yellow in the other).

Have you been to the Adirondacks yet? There are quite a few routes up there and if your ankle is still giving trouble you can use a canoe cart on many of the portages. Something to think about; not too far away from you and no national borders to cross!
