Can Sharing a Kiss Lead to Gluten Transfer?

I'm always hopeful that things like this are funded privately but, then again, it's harmless enough... if it keeps us from getting all of the governance that we pay for...

Can Sharing a Kiss Lead to Gluten Transfer?

(sigh) not sure how I missed this but, then again, maybe that's for the best... OK so, the instructions were: "Slip her the tongue for at least a minute... I'll just watch". God, I miss college (then again, some days I don't) 10 couples? That's not a statistically significant sample size from...

    Wildfire Smoke

Central PA from I99 (eastbound) today. For those out West, it may not look unusual but the most distant ridge shown is only about 7 or 8 miles as the crow flies. Oddly, we usually only get a hint of smoke smell in the early mornings. PS: yeah, I know PA is now a "hands free" state... don't...

    Hello from MA

Welcome to the site and thanks for joining in. Free canoes are a great way to get people hooked and are WAY better than free candy from an unmarked van. From your avatar, it looks like you may already have effective bear deterrent available. What canoe are you starting out with? (fair warning...

C1 detachable bench seat and ratchet thigh straps

Wow. 1st impressions: 1) my Unicorn Spit Merlin is no longer the fugliest canoe I've ever seen. 2) It certainly seems like the paddler would have a very secure attachment to the hull with easy escape if needed. 3) I definitely would have enjoyed playing with this type of "canoe" in my former...

Load weight and trim and it's effect on stability.

I like it. Certainly warm enough for swimming down there.

    Colden Dragonfly Repair

Erica, looking at the repair kit that you asked about above, it appears that it may be a pre-thickened epoxy (they talk about spreading it so it's not the thin viscosity liquid with which I am familiar) and it certainly looks like it should work. I would think an N95 mask would work fine for...

Rollin Thurlow and Jerry Stelmok on television

Thanks Benson. They seem like quite a pair. I particularly enjoyed: "no sentimental value; get it outta here"... (yeah... right...) Really great to see craftsmen who enjoy their work

    Sylvania

Awesome picture of the underwater tree and thanks for taking time to write the TR. Sorry it wasn't a better trip but I can understand. Constant rain is a PIA for sure. Good to know about Sylvania too. I've thought about it as I drive past but I've become spoiled by the lack of people further...

    Colden Dragonfly Repair

Yes; yes it will. I'm really not sure if it's the epoxy or the cloth that is damaged by UV light but I'd slap a couple of coats of spar varnish on when you're done. That should protect the epoxy (if it needs it) and remove the sanding scratches.

    Colden Dragonfly Repair

There's a lot of people on here that have done more extensive repairs than I so perhaps they'll chime in but I agree that I'd fill the gouged-out areas with something. I'd probably use epoxy thickened with microballoons but I already have that stuff (they sell small quantities of G-flex and...

Load weight and trim and it's effect on stability.

I have to wonder if some of the perceived twitchiness is due to the change in hull profile from what you've gotten used to. Even the twitchiest of boats can feel stable once we've become familiar with them but changing loads cause changing handling characteristics. One more reason to paddle...

    Wildfire Smoke

Mem's take makes sense to me. I know I saw tons of tree tops & wood laying everywhere in the cuts that I drove through up there. I had to wonder if it wouldn't be more efficient to chip the trees onsite & reduce waste but, I suppose, if that worked, it would already be done. Luckily, there is...

    inReach Explorer Plus issue

I don't have the Plus (just an Explorer) but like Mem, I've never deleted an old location. At the very top of the screen, there is a (green, in my case) tab that says "new location" so I've never had to delete an old one to get a new forecast. If you open an expired forecast, it gives...

Cedar strip canoe build epoxy issues

I agree that, from what we can see, it looks like the cloth has pulled away from air bubbles forming (or, possibly, stretching the glass it while wet?). I've had small areas do that (seems particularly prevalent when glassing the inside) and I've have had success injecting epoxy under the...

    Two rescues in one day

You can safely pick up snappers by the tail (admittedly, it IS safer to use sticks, shovels & buckets). Unlike other turtles, their mouths can reach every other part of their bodies

    Final curing of epoxy boats

I'm not terribly familiar with the properties of sunlight. Would leaning over the hull & taking a reading of the shaded area be sufficient to get an accurate temperature? Anyone in the South care to do some testing? You should definitely get some hotter surface temps and, honestly, the way...

    Invasive species carried on canoes?

I broke out their response in this thread. If you'd care to check with West Systems (which I figure is the other major player in the world of strippers), please post their response in the new thread. Thanks in advance.

    Final curing of epoxy boats

In response to a conversation started on this thread, I had an interesting conversation with an epoxy manufacturer today. I'll break it out here so as to not derail the original thread and to make it more searchable in the future (probably worth researching IMO): In the above referenced...
