That's great! I am often confused by folks who have read about a boat being 'tippy' and not take into account perspective. I think kayakers adapt more quickly to narrow solo canoe hulls.

Yeah, I hated the ones on my Vagabond UL Kevlar. The angle Wenonah chose was too steep for my taste; I ended up securing the plates on both sides to the brackets on the gunnels at the angle and height that I like with four screws. No more adjustment, but I never really did that anyway.

Good luck with the reno-job, Dave. These old Canadian made fiberglass canoes often get a bad rap, and the quality has had highs and lows over the years, but the price is usually right. I have a Sportcraft in the fleet for the once or twice a year the Mrs. wants to paddle with me.
