I have a lot of fun cooking on fire and with a teenager camping with me you have to keep that furnace well fed. We had a great time lowangle!

Father / Son Canoe Camping Trip at Seboies Lake Public Reserved Lands, July 2020

Bob I have read many of your trip reports and just like you said there are so many paddling opportunities in Maine, but few where one is alone to take it all in. I have considered several Canadian trips but this year is clearly what it is. Camden and I have recently discussed some fly in trips...

Father / Son Canoe Camping Trip at Seboies Lake Public Reserved Lands, July 2020

Agree fully that green peppers and onions bring a special flare to camping cuisine. Camden enjoys nice table fare while camping so I accommodate. Plus I enjoy cooking over a fire. Every thing tastes better with flame!

Father / Son Canoe Camping Trip at Seboies Lake Public Reserved Lands, July 2020

My son and I just returned from our weekend getaway to Seboeis Lake, Maine. We loaded up and paddled the Wabnaki tandem and I was extremely pleased with the stability of the canoe. Camden was very impressed and comfortable with the webbed seats. He is not a big fan of the molded seats. On...

I think the best advice that I can offer is to determine what type of canoe tripping can be accommodated by the desired to be built canoe. A new builder would need to identify what is the most important factor in regards to boat design....for me personally I needed more speed which I gained by...

    Allagash Lake Loop June 2020

Chip, after the portage from Caucomgomoc stream to Caucomgomoc Lake I did in fact paddle Ciss Stream. I captured some Moose footage on Ciss Stream and I tried my up side down photo of the mirror like water on the stream and skyline. That was Ciss Stream. I then paddled Round Pond hoping to...

Very pleased to learn that you and Karen enjoyed the trip video and followed along with my first canoe build video series. The trip was truly rewarding and the canoe handled like a dream. The Wabnaki design really makes for an extremely stable canoe and I was more than comfortable throughout...

Nahmakanta Lake and Stream from Pemadumcook

Great trip report Goonstroke and great pictures!! I have always been curious about Nahmankanta but the easy access has always deterred me from even trying. The stream travel was obviously a challenge...but in the end you got er done! The dock at 3rd Debsconeag when I last passed through that...

I always travel with my bean boots but they are the low cut style and wading with those would make for a long day with residual sloshing and eventually blisters perhaps. I actually wore very light water shoes (World Wide Sportsman) and they were new before the trip. They look about 5 years old...

I am still working towards packing lighter. Of course lighter means much more expensive, but I did manage to fit everything I needed into my 115L Seal Line pack. Still too heavy at 53lbs. I traveled with very little clothing, minimal food (enough food), so I would have to say that my sleeping...

Ppine, thanks for your feedback. I have canoe tripped many times but have not filmed as much until recently so the camera angles and when to do certain things with the camera are still part of the learning curve. I will accept your constructive criticism and apply that down the road with...
