I didn’t start wearing socks to paddle (unless wearing tennis shoes/boots when it’s cold) until I started kneeling and realized I didn’t want to burn the soles of my feet. As PaddlingPika above noted as well, I’m sick of sunscreen and am choosing to cover up instead where possible.

That’s a good starting point. But you can also use trim to help manage wind and steerage. With a headwind, trim the bow down to limit how much the wind pushes your bow around, with a tailwind you can do the opposite.
