Jokes and Laughter for the Day

I have paddled the Deerfield! Took a couple lessons with Zoar. I thought white water would be my thing. Not so much...I spend to much time looking at the scenery...Oooops! You must have gotten a couple sideways looks with the shirt.

Repairing, cleaning and waterproofing a Nesmuk Woods canoe pack video

I do my ""waxing" using Sno-Seal IMO it works just fine. I've used it on a couple canvas bags as well as leather items I've made. I have another bag standing by for more Sno-Seal to arrive. Use your hands and rub it into the material. Then take a heat gun to it.

I have to tell this story. I took my granddaughter to one of her indoor soccer games and sat next to a lady who was maybe 35 yo. During the game she took out her phone and started texting. Both thumbs going at a blistering speed. I was mesmerized then she let out a hoop and I realized she was...

Canoe Art: Paintings, Sketches, Sculpture, Architecture

I've always enjoyed looking at Homer's "The Blue Boat". It is a beautiful watercolor. Another sketch of a guy poling. Looks like he is heading into some rougher water and is concentrating on the route ahead.

Poll: Tobacco & nicotine, and canoe stories about use

I quit last November 11 after 40+ years. My back surgeon refused to operate on me if I didn't quit. Something about the spinal column not healing properly or taking forever to heal because of the nicotine. I had never heard of this, but I figured he knew a little more about that stuff than I did...

Very inexpensive gear that is very valuable

Those are pretty good cheapies! The mini biners are indispensable! I also find the small nylon ditty bags are great. Different colors for different items. They, themselves are not waterproof but go into a dry bag. 3 packs available at Walmart for next to nothing.
