How did your dog like that sleeping pad in the canoe? I have an old one that I never thought of using for that purpose. My dog would probably appreciate it. Also, it looks like your boat is set up with a paddling thwart? What model Nova Craft is it? Thank you for any information.

I'd have to assume water filters are pretty much the way to go, but does anyone boil their water? Any thoughts on this?

I'm hoping to get back in there 4th of July Weekend, and really get to Klondike and hopefully even to twilight lake. I have another trip, which isn't Solo for Middle of July, which will be the Fox River, and Manistique River. Around 100 Miles through the UP to Lake MI. Looking forward to that one.

I carry a small voice recorder. put my thoughts in it as I go and then sometime in the weeks following I transfer it to a written journal. Saves time when I'm in the sticks.

Don't use 303. But on a side note. When you get a new boat and you put 303 on it. It does help with UV protection and with keeping stains off of the hull also. I've done it on 3 of my kayaks and 2 canoes and it worked great. I skipped one kayak and you can tell the difference when you clean it...
