Just filled out the entry forms for my first canoe race since 1984. Will be using a Bell Northstar with bent shafts on a ten mile course. Have done this trip in three hours in a Mohawk Solo 14. Will be in the recreational class. The only other class for canoe is unlimited for racing canoes...

Try one of Ted Bell's Northstar canoes Magics, Northwind Solo or Phoenix solo canoes. The Phoenix is supposed to be a supper sized Wild Fire for larger guys.
